There are 13 Democrats on the primary ballot Tuesday, but four have withdrawn. No candidates from other parties filed as a candidate for this election.
The winner faces a special election Nov. 18 to complete Tubbs Jones' term ending Jan. 3.
Among the names on the ballot is Warrensville Heights Mayor Marcia Fudge, who was already nominated by local Democrats to be the party's nominee for Tubbs Jones' seat on Nov. 4 against Republican Thomas Pekerak.
Democrat Tubbs Jones, 58, died on Aug. 20 after suffering a brain hemorrhage caused by a ruptured aneurysm.
